The #TMHM Symposium aims to catalyze discussions on the latest conceptual frameworks and technological approaches for studying marine host-microbe symbioses, with a particular emphasis on the effect of climate change
on these foundational ecosystems.

Central themes will include fostering interdisciplinary collaboration
and encouraging open data sharing to expedite scientific progress.
The symposium will also spotlight the pressing need for microbiome stewardship and the implementation of actionable strategies to preserve biodiversity.

Organizing Committee

The Trends in Marine Host-Microbe Symbioses symposium is organised as part of the initiatives of the Beneficial Microbes for Marine Organisms (BMMO) network and is led by Maria Elena Martino (Associate Professor at the University of Padua, Italy) and Raquel Peixoto (Associate Professor at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia).

The #TMHM Symposium will be held at the Botanical Garden of Padua, the oldest university botanical garden in the world.
Today, the garden is a centre for research and conservation of plant biodiversity, holding 3,500 species of plant life from around the world.
